members, ionizing radiation has been reduced by over
50%. Appropriate use has increased by over 30% and
inappropriate use has decreased by more than 60%.

ACIC Recognized at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Scientific Sessions, March 9-12 in San Francisco, CA
The ACIC received ongoing recognition at this year’s ACC in San Francisco. The international conference attracted over 20,000 attendees with about 2100 presentations. The results from effort put forth by all of the ACIC participating members were acknowledged by CCTA experts in numerous presentations throughout the three day conference. Speakers noted the positive outcomes in the CQI initiatives involving radiation dose reduction and appropriate use. One session titled ‘CT Angiography in Clinical Use’ had a presentation “CT in Prime Time: Update on CT Clinical Trials and Registries” where ACIC was reviewed with other notable national registries. Also, in a session titled “A Year in Review: CCTA in 2012” one of the ACIC publications, Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography After Stress Testing Results From a Multicenter, Statewide Registry, ACIC (Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Consortium) was listed in the Top Ten Papers.
In addition, there were two presentations from the ACIC data, one of which received a “Best Poster” award:

September 28th- In conjunction with the Michigan
ACC, the ACIC along with BMC2 will be having their
consortium meeting at the 25th Anniversary
Michigan ACC conference. It is being held at the
Marriott Hotel at the Renaissance Center, Detroit,
MI. Various sessions will be available to all
members of the ACIC. Special didactic sessions for
cardiologists and radiologists. Registration fee
waived for ACIC members.
